Steps:- Click Start
- Select Control Panel
- Choose Ease of Access
- Click Ease of Access Center
- Select Start Narrator
- Zoom Support
Feature: Magnifier allows you to zoom in for better visibility and easier navigation.
Steps:- Click Start
- Select Control Panel
- Choose Ease of Access
- Click Optimize Visual Display
- Check the box next to Turn on Magnifier
- Color Contrast Support
Feature: Windows allows you to adjust contrast to suit your needs.
Steps:- Click Start
- Select Control Panel
- Choose Appearance and Personalization
- Click Personalization
- Scroll down to Contrast Theme options and select the best theme for you.
- Navigation Support
Feature: Speech Recognition enables you to control your PC with voice commands.
Steps:- Plug in your microphone
- Click Start
- Select Windows Speech Recognition
- Follow the setup wizard (for first-time users) and complete the tutorial.
Enabling Accessibility Features on macOS El Capitan
- Screen Reader Support
Feature: VoiceOver reads text aloud and allows you to control your Mac using the keyboard.
Steps:- Press Command + F5 to turn on VoiceOver
- Alternatively, click System Preferences on the dock, then Accessibility
- Select VoiceOver and enable it.
- Zoom Support
Feature: Zoom lets you zoom in for better visibility and navigation.
Steps:- Click System Preferences on the dock
- Select Accessibility
- Click Zoom
- Choose one of the following options:
- To zoom using keyboard shortcuts, select Use keyboard shortcuts to zoom.
- To zoom using your mouse or trackpad, select Use scroll gesture with modifier keys to zoom.
- Visual Support
Feature: Modify display settings and enhance visibility by adjusting contrast or cursor size.
Steps:- Click System Preferences on the dock
- Select Accessibility
- Click Display
- Check the following options to suit your needs:
- Invert Colors for a black background with white text
- Use Greyscale for a grey display
- Enhance Cursor Size to enlarge the cursor.
- Speech Support
Feature: Dictation and Speech can read text aloud.
Steps:- Click System Preferences on the dock
- Select Accessibility
- Click Dictation and Speech
- Enable Text to Speech
- Check the box for Speak selected text when the key is pressed
- Choose your preferred key or key combination (highlight text and press the chosen keys to have it read aloud).
